Two Species of Siphonostomatoid Copepods Parasitic on Marine Fishes of Taiwan

寄生在臺灣海水魚體上二種屬於吸管口目的橈足類

摘要

二種屬於吸管口目的橈足類，被發現在臺灣東岸所產海水魚的鰓上寄生。此二種寄生蟲的蟲種與寄主分別為：寄生在棘馬鞭魚(Fistularia commersonii Rüppell)與馬鞭魚(F. Petimba Lacepéde)的馬鞭魚虱(Caligus fistulariae Yamaguti, 1936)；及寄生在四種遠洋魚類：黃鰭鮪[Thunnus albacares (Bonnaterre)]、大目鮪[T. Obesus (Lowe)]、鬼頭刀(Coryphaena hippurus Linnaeus)，及紅肉旗魚[Tetrapturus audax (Philippi)]鰓腔中的廣動短翼魚虱[Euryphorus brachypterus (Gerstaeker, 1853)]。此二種寄生蟲均為臺灣首次的發現記錄。

Two species of siphonostomaoid copepods were found parasitic on marine fishes caught mostly off east (Pacific) coast of Taiwan. They are ectoparasites living in the gill cavities of their hosts. The species of parasites and their hosts are: Caligus fistulariae Yamaguti, 1936 on the bluespotted cometfish, Fistularia commersonii Rüppell and red cornetfish, Fistularia petimba Lacep6de, and Eurhphorus brachypterus (Gerstaecker, 1853) on the following four species of pelagic fishes: yellowfin tuna, Thunnus albacares (Bonnaterre); bigeye tuna, T. obesus (Lowe); common dolphinfish, Coryphaena hippurus Linnaeus; and striped marlin, Tetrapturus audax (Philippi). Both species of parasites are recorded for the first time from the waters of Taiwan.
