Schools are the best places to promote smoking prevention among the children and adolescents. Schools also present effective channels for reaching other segments of population, i.e., school personnel, families, and community members. The Bureau of Health Promotion of the Department of Health in Taiwan has begun to promote “Tobacco-Free School Program” in order to build tobacco-free and healthful learning environment. The theoretical models, elements, and guidelines for tobacco-free school programs, and preventive curriculum are discussed. Five suggestions regarding tobacco-free school programs are provided to enhance adolescent smoking prevention task.
