The main idea of this research is to consider the difference of the technical index between 100-meter contestants those who are divided into elite athlete and non-elite athlete in college. According to national college sports meeting in 2004, the study also takes the step length and step frequency made by 100-meter contestants, who get from the first place to the sixth place at finals, for example to investigate the statistical analysis. Through the describable statements, independent sample of t test, the research shows: First, after elite athlete and non-elite male groups' step length and step frequency test, the step length index reaches an observable level-p<.05. Besides, the average quantity of both male groups' step frequency is closer than their step length. Second, step length ability is the most difference between them; the reason why non-elite male group falls back is that they make too many steps in the 100-meter field meet. Third, on the other hand, after elite athlete and non-elite groups' step length and step frequency test, the step frequency index also reaches an outstanding level-p<.05. In fact, the difference of the average quantity between the both female groups, step frequency is larger than their step length. Fourth, step frequency ability is the most difference between them. Therefore, it is better to promote the step frequency in training for female non-elite runners.
