Design and Development of the Novel Walking frame for Human body

The purpose of this study is to design and develop a novel walking frame for human body. Most commercial walking frames have a simple folding mechanism by rotating the handles internally. The new design walking flame has a parallel folding mechanism in the front element which can reduce the volume of flame after folding and can be used for stair ascending and descending. First part of this study presents a literature review and analysis of walking frame for human body. The walking frame referred in this study is mainly from the patents of United States and Taiwan, and the strength and weakness for each design are analyzed. The study also presents a synthesis mechanism of rapid folding member for novel walking frame. A computer modeling the construct of novel walking was created by SOLIDWORKS2006 and stress, strain and total deformation analysis for this walking flame were performed by ANSYS 11.0 finite element software. Finally, the novel walking frame is passed the mechanical test according to the regulation of CNS. The feasibility of the novel walking frame has been confirmed, and the results of this study offered a reference and guideline for design and improvement of walking frame.
