竹材之強度性質

摘要


竹材強度性質隨竹齡及竹桿高度部位而變異,竹材強度在竹林約3到5年到達最高,其間視竹種而異。一般而言,竹材之比重與強度顯現由上桿部向下桿部遞減。在相同之比重下,竹材具有高於木材強度之特性,竹節對一般強度性質有負面之影響,然而在縱向剪力方面,則有增強之效果,說明竹簡對竹材原桿剛性之重要性。碳化處理及其他化學處理,如著色與防腐,對強度性質有不同之正或負面影響,視處理條件或化學藥劑種類而定。竹林之施肥作業,增加竹材之比重,若與未經施肥之竹林作業相比,孟宗竹材之一般強度性質,會因施肥而有所降低,若欲培育質量並重之優良竹材,竹林作業與竹材性質之相關研究,有待加強。

The strength properties of bamboo material varies with the age of bamboo plant and the longitudinal positon of bamboo culm. The bamboo material strength reaches its maximum at the age of 3-5 years depending upon the bamboo species. Both the specific gravity and the strength properties of bamboo drop, in general, from the top portion of bamboo culm to the base. Under the same specific gravity level, bamboo material shows a higher strength than that of wood. The node portion of bamboo weakens the strength of bamboo material except that of shear strength, which shows a higher value than that of the clear section of bamboo culm. The steam treatment and the chemical treatments, such as, dyeing and preserving, have a varied effect (positive or negative) on the strength properties of bamboo. Fertilization increases the specific gravity of moso bamboo material as compared to that of the unfertilized bamboo plant, but the reverse is true for most of the strength properties.
