Target subjects were that of public special education school teachers. Totally 440 copies of questionnaires were sent, and the effective retrievals were 399 copies that counted 90.7% in terms of retrieval rate. Then the t-test, One Way ANOVA, product-moment correlation, and canonical correlations were used for statistical analysis. The results are as follow: 1) Workplaces cause teachers moderate level of work stress; among them, it is the work stress brought by “teaching problems” score the highest; 2) The most frequently coping strategy that teacher used is the “rational analysis” when facing workplace stress; 3) Teachers demonstrate moderate-to-low level of burnout symptoms, of that “low achievements” are the highest; 4) Teacher’s work stress are having significant differences in 6 background variables, that is age, sex, marriage status, position held, school size, and grade being teaching; 5) It is sex, position held, and grade being teaching of background variables that make teachers show significant differences; 6) Burnout symptoms for teachers are observed with significant discrepancy on two background variables of the highest academic certificate and position held; 7) The more work stress teachers have, the higher the burnout symptoms; 8) It is the work stress teacher bear from the workplace that affect what coping strategies to be taken, and the last but not the least 9) Different coping strategies teachers took significantly have an effect on burnout.
