本論文是由台灣日治時期的日語教育之發展開始,到戰後一度中斷與近數十年再興之脈絡中,探討日語教育如何成為台灣學習者人數最多的第二外國語言。補習班、各級學校,甚至幼稚園都有提供日語學習之相關課程,日語學習者的人數不但年年增加,且其學習者年齡也有年輕化之趨勢。其中,以幼兒園的日語教育之現況為主軸展開下列之研究與調查。 由台灣的幼教發展中來探討幼兒外語學習之興起以及其相關議題。並以大台北地區(台北市、新北市)的日語幼兒園為研究對象,進行訪查和家長問卷調查。理解其成立的起源與發展,掌握家長讓孩子學習日語的動機以及其學經歷等家庭背景。比照家長們對孩子教育之期許是否與園方的教育目標與經營理念相呼應。 最後,以家長的期望、園方的教育理念以及目前台灣的幼教法規與環境,探討台灣未來的日語教育、幼兒日語教育發展之可能。
This study is about the situation of Japanese learning for preschool children in Taipei. Beginning with the development of Japanese-language education in Taiwan from Japanese occupation until now. This study investigates that how Japanese became the most popular second foreign language subject in Taiwan, even it had been suspended during the early post-World WarⅡperiod. Not only an increase in Japanese learners, but their average age has also been younger. Then, the development of preschool foreign language education which is arguable in Taiwan. The researcher investigated the preschools which teach Japanese in Taipei area through in-depth interview, and understood the parents’ thoughts by questionnaire survey. In the end, the researcher compared the parents’ expectations toward the goal of education with the preschools’ education policy, and concluded whether it should be amended or not. The findings will contribute to the potential development for Japanese-language education in the future.
