エコクリティシズムから読む有吉佐和子『複合汚染』

「ストーリー‧テラー」と評された有吉佐和子の『複合汚染』（初出1974-1975『朝日新聞』、単行本上下1975）は、ややともすれば、「構成の破綻」、「型破りの小説」の悪評を受けている。今回、コクリティシズムの根幹を為す「環境思想における人間中心主義から環境中心主義への転移」、「人間中心主義の解体と環境中心主義」の観点から、『複合汚染』を読解した結果、大自然との調和、酷使する農薬による環境の複合的汚染をめぐる作家有吉佐和子の文学的関心と実践の軌跡の一端が明らかになった。ここから逆に考えると、「選挙」、「環境汚染」、「消費者運動」の三要素が絡む公害問題は、エコクリティシズムの視点によってこそ問題の重大さを認識できるという共通点によって、分裂していると言われた前半と後半を緊密に連結させており、後半の大自然との調和への大事な主張へと繋がっていくという構造をより明確に見出すことが出来た。これこそ、『複合汚染』の読みにエコクリティシズムの導入の必要性を裏付ける有力な証明だと言えよう。

This paper has read and comprehended this work from the transition to an environmental center principle from the human center principle in the environmental thought and the demolition of a human center principle and a viewpoint of an environmental center principle by eco-criticism. As a result, Sawako Ariyoshi's literary concern involving the harmony with Nature, complex contamination of the environment by the agricultural chemicals to overwork, and the locus of practice is clarified. The pollution problem in which three elements of an election, environmental pollution, and a consumer movement shown in the work can be recognized the importance in question just by the viewpoint of eco-criticism. It has connected closely the first half and the second half with these three elements, in which it was estimated that this work was divided. And this work is carrying out the important opinion to harmony with Nature in the second half. Introduction of eco-criticism can tell necessity to reading of ＂Fukugo Osen＂.
