Ultraviolet Photodetectors with One-Dimensional ZnO Nanostructures Grown on a Flexible Substrate

並列摘要

This paper reports on the fabrication and I-V characteristics of ZnO nanorod-based metal-semiconductor- metal photodetectors (PDs) on a flexible substrate. In general, ZnO nanomaterials must be fabricated in an environment with high temperature; however, a flexible substrate is not resistant to high temperatures. Therefore, fabricating ZnO nanomaterials on flexible substrates is a challenging task. In this work, ZnO nanostructures were successfully grown on a flexible substrate using a hydrothermal method at a low temperature. Scanning electron microscope measurement indicates that the average diameter of the ZnO nanorods was ~45 nm. Moreover, the proposed ZnO nanorod-based ultraviolet (UV) PDs exhibit highly rapid rise/fall time characteristics. Results indicate that ZnO nanorods exhibit considerable potential for high-performance UV PDs and are promising candidates for future flexible PD and device applications.
