摘要

本文旨在討論非正式營造系統中關於木材營建方面的空間措詞。全文分為兩大部分，前者提供分析非正式營造系統的理論基礎，後者則提供非正式營造系統中關於木材方面的營造語彙，以做為空間實踐之參考。理論部分由批判的角度界定非正式營造系統開始，接著提出其社會性的限制，指出不宜孤立處理非正式營造系統的有關課題。然後，指出非正式營造系統的特殊性，若將其視為一種空間中的措詞或是以智論述中的表意實踐，在空間意義的戰場上，正式與非正式營造系統間的抗爭，有可能至少在語言上不在受縛於傳統的論述與制度之中。最後，我們提出一分析性架構做為實踐時的暫時性假說。在營造語彙擬議部分，在對基本取向做一交待之後，分別出設計作法與構造作法兩部分將空間的措詞分別列舉以做為營造實踐之參考元素。

This paper focuses on the spatial rhetoric of wood-construction in the informal building system. The paper has two parts: The first part provides a theoretical analysis of informal building system, and the second part provides building vocabuary of wood-construction of informal building system in Taiwan as referent elements for spatial practice. In the theoretical part, it starts with defining informal building system. After that, the paper points out the social limit of informal building system which can't not be treated isolated. Then, it turns to the issue of the specificity of informal building system can be considered as spatial rhetoric, or signifying practice in architectural discourse. In the battlefield of spatial meaning, the battle between formal system and informal system, it is possible that we may get rid o the power and the control of language of conventional dicourses and institutions. Finally, and analytical framework as tentative hypothese for spatial practice is proposed. In the part of proposed building vocabuaries, spatial rhetoric is organized around two sections: fundamental principles, design guidelines and construction guidelines. These are elements of spatial rhetoric which represent the symbolic expression of cultural value of space.
