碎形幾何是1 9 7 0 年代創造出的一種新型幾何,用來揭示自然界混亂無規則結構中的規律性及物理本質。碎形幾何理論中具有的自我相似性、分數維度、渾沌的動態性、無限的延展性等特徵,可以表現出潛藏於自然界中的複雜造形,而將這些特徵應用於視覺傳達設計,將有別於傳統歐幾里德幾何學的表現方式。 此外,在後現代美學的衝擊下,對包裝形式的要求,不再單純以功能為訴求,促使我們重新思考視覺新美學的規則、技術與表現方式。故本文藉研究方法探討碎形幾何相關的理論基礎,對於碎形幾何的造形與現象加以整理,並以視覺傳達設計中的包裝設計類別,進行情境式的應用分析與創作,以提供視覺設計相關之創意與表現之參考。
Fractal geometry - a new theory of geometry that has been developed in 1970'and it is able to represent the regulation and characteristics of physical objects from the chaos and irregular constructions. It announced regular patterns and innate characters from irregular chaos structures of natural objects. Therefore Fractal geometry has four features that are self-similarity, fractional dimension, chaotic dynamics, unlimited expansion. Hence, fractal forms are not only show complex images of the Nature but also apply theirs character on visual design. The method of expression is quite different from Euclid geometry. Since the impact of Postmodernism, formalization does not lead to functional approach. Therefore we need to rethink the regulation, technique, and the way we present our works from the perspective of neoaesthetics. The theory of Fractal geometry has been utilized in the thesis including literature reviews, organizes its form and phenomenon. The author attempts to examine and apply this theory on the atmospheric packaging design. Finally, the result of the study will be served as a reference in the design fields and creative development.
