In the past, researchers usually studied the difference in employees' job attitude regarding gender, but this study wonders if the true factor is the gender role. Most of the elementary school teachers are female, so researchers define this vocation as ”traditional feminine occupation.” The purpose of this study is to find out when employees work in the feminine occupation, would the gender or gender role be the most important factor to make the difference in their achievement motivation and job satisfaction? Survey data was compiled from a sample of 129 elementary school teachers. The results indicated that gender makes no significant difference in achievement motivation and job satisfaction, but gender role plays a significant part.
